Creating hope for all facing illness.

On December 1, 2025, we embarked on a new chapter as Tanabe Pharma Corporation (hereinafter, Tanabe Pharma). At the same time, we launched our redesigned website.

We have been providing patients with medicines and treatments around the world for over 340 years since Tanabe Seiyaku Co., Ltd. (originally TANABEYA Gohei), the forerunner of our company, was established in 1678 in Osaka, as a family business to produce and sell its proprietary TANABEYA Infusing Medicine, earning the trust of healthcare professionals, patients, their families, and other stakeholders. The new company name, “Tanabe Pharma,” reflects our commitment to further global growth as an R&D driven pharmaceutical innovator while honoring our legacy.

To realize our MISSION: “Creating hope for all facing illness,” we must continue to contribute to society. For a pharmaceutical company, "contribution" means establishing new treatments based on science and bringing them into practice to benefit patients and their families. At the same time, scientific progress has revealed that many unmet medical needs still exist, so there are still many areas where we can contribute. To fulfill this mission, we must remain an organization capable of continuously fostering medicines. By becoming a member of Bain Capital —a firm with a strong and rich expertise in the healthcare sector —on July 1, 2025, we aim to accelerate our sustainable growth and global expansion. Tanabe Pharma will further strengthen our R&D capabilities and promote external collaborations to create new value.

As medical needs become more sophisticated and drug discovery modalities diversify, the difficulty of developing new drugs continues to rise. Developing medicines that consistently benefit patients is a significant challenge. However, by working together as one team across the company, we will deliver more hopeful choices to society.

We sincerely appreciate your continued support and guidance.
